Wanda J Cates

Wanda Cates, age 78, of Paducah passed away at 7:38 a.m. Monday, February 20, 2023 at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center.  Wanda was a member of Heartland Church and a native of Cairo, Illinois.  She retired from H & R Block Tax Preparation Services.

Survivors include two daughters,  Eve Marie Cates and Lisa Dawn Cates; one son, Stephen David Cates all of Paducah; two grandchildren, Tyler Bishop Reed and Sydney Grace Reed; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by husband, Richard David Cates, two sisters, Norma Rose Tucker and Betty Laverne Gilbert; one brother, Thomas Lee Somers.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2023 at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Nathan Joyce officiating.  Visitation will be held Saturday, February 25, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until service time of 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Urn burial will take place at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens at a later date.
